Days One and Two: Arrive and Settle
Land at Dubai International and use the first evening to walk the Dubai Creek waterfront. The old city moves at a gentler pace than the modern marina, and it sets a good tone for the trip. Book the Burj Khalifa for the morning of day two, before the crowds build. The observation deck view across the Gulf at 9am is genuinely different from an afternoon visit.
Days Three and Four: Heritage and Local Rhythm
Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood is best explored on foot in the early morning. Narrow lanes, wind towers, and small galleries give a clear sense of what the city looked like before the towers arrived. Take an abra across the creek to the Deira spice and gold souks — this is still a working commercial area, not a tourist recreation.
Day Five: Desert
A morning-into-afternoon desert experience fits naturally at the midpoint of the trip. Soft dune drives, a camel walk, and a sunset camp dinner are the standard format. The better operators allow plenty of quiet time between activities rather than rushing through a fixed programme.
Days Six and Seven: Modern City and Departure
The Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence area rewards an evening walk. Dinner options are broad and the atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming. Keep the last morning unscheduled for any museums or markets not yet visited, before a relaxed checkout.
